IDFY now accepting applications for Youth Advisory Board Members
Idaho Drug Free Youth is seeking members to serve on its 2011-2012 Youth Advisory Board.
The IDFY Youth Advisory Board is comprised of six teens ages in grades 10-12 from communities across Idaho. The Board’s mission is to advise the IDFY Staff and Board of Directors on program components, including but not limited to the IDFY Leadership Retreat, the annual giving campaign, and the Idaho Youth Summit.
“YAB helped me realize that IDFY is more than just about informing people about the problems drugs bring to people, but it is about youth helping bring together other youth in the fight against drug abuse. It showed me that we don’t just deal with drugs, we are here to make leaders out of the everyone and show them that they can do more,” said John Freeman, a 2010-2011 Youth Advisory Board member. “We are a network that will help them to to that point.”
The application deadline is July 29th. Applicants will be notified by August. Information and applications are available at: www.idahodrugfreeyouth.org/for-teens/youth-advisory-board/.
