The Ultimate Leadership Experience

Hey IDFY’ers! Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet with other youth across the state.

Once again, IDFY is hosting a Leadership Retreat and Advisor Training for all youth in grades 7th-12th and all IDFY advisors. Do you have what it takes to become an ultimate leader in your school? Join us for the IDFY Leadership Retreat on November 14th-16th, 2008.

This year’s retreat is all about partnerships (hence the “Howdy, Partner!” theme). IDFY is partnering with Straight Forward (a group from South Dakota), the Idaho Department of Education and Health &
Welfare, and the members & advisors of IDFY chapters to take a closer look at youth & adult partnerships and their importance in preventing risky behaviors. During the weekend retreat, youth and adults will learn more about hosting and facilitating events in their communities that will promote awareness and a proactive approach to eliminating the communication barrier.

Students will have the opportunity to use their creativity and be involved in the creation and filming of
scenarios that will serve as conversation starters to open the lines of communication between youth and adults. Advisors will spend their time learning more about community-based prevention and how to coordinate such events in their towns. Advisors will also have the opportunity to network and share ideas with other advisors from across the state. In order to accomplish this, much attention is paid to the personal growth of participants and the many ways they can have fun together in a positive and nurturing environment.

Be there! Free transporation provided.
