Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer staff for the 18th annual Idaho Youth Summit!

Applications for the 2011 Idaho Youth Summit will be available January 15th, 2011.

The Idaho Youth Summit is a very active, participatory camp where staff is asked to take part from morning until night. It is an excellent opportunity to receive additional training in youth leadership, facilitation skills, and drug prevention programming. We value the commitment of our staff members who are so talented at assisting teens in making positive choices.

As volunteer staff, you will play an invaluable role in helping each participant to have a fulfilling and positive conference experience. The responsibilities associated with the staff role require a great deal of time and energy. We appreciate your acceptance of this role and ask that you perform your responsibilities with a positive and helpful attitude.

IDAHO YOUTH SUMMIT STAFF ELIGIBILITY:

YOUTH STAFF

Youth who have previously attended the Idaho Youth Summit and who are finishing grades 10-12 may apply to serve as Youth Staff during the conference week. Both Youth Participants and Youth Staff are required to pay a conference fee to attend. Those chosen for youth staff are offered a reduced fee of $75. Volunteer staff members are required to attend an additional 2-3 days of training before the conference. It is a privilege to serve as Youth Staff and a great opportunity for those who would like to increase their leadership skills.

I-TEAM
Adults ages 18-20 who would like to volunteer as staff have the opportunity to apply for the I-Team. I-Team members are required to attend an additional 3 days of training before the conference. As an incentive, we have waived the conference fee for those adults who are selected as I-Team.

Adult Staff
Adults ages 21 and up, who would like to volunteer as staff, have the opportunity to apply for Adult Staff. Adult Staff members are required to attend an additional 2 days of training before the conference. As an incentive, we have waived the conference fee for those adults who are selected as Adult Staff. Volunteer staff may apply to receive CEU and PDU’s for their training and participation at the Idaho Youth Summit.

STAFF TRAINING:

I-Team

will be expected to arrive for staff training at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 10th, 2011.

Youth Staff will be expected to arrive for staff training at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 11th, 2011.

Adult Staff will be expected to arrive for staff training at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 11th, 2011.

All Staff will be expected to stay until 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 16th, 2011.

Staff applications must be submitted by March 31, 2011. Applicants will be informed of our selections for staff by April 15, 2011.
